Just found out another popular artist from the '60's passed away

I was playing some of my 45's and was listening to "Seemann, deine Heimat ist das Meer" and wanted to find out more information on this record and found that Edith Zusar aka (Lolita) passed away on June 30, 2010 in Salzburg/Austria from Cancer. She was born on January 17th. 1931 St. Pölten/Austria.

I found a short video clip of her performing this song from 1960 but when I embedded the video it was too large so I'm posting the YouTube link instead here and another live performance from 2005 here

I found a lot of information about her on WIKIPEDIA but I don't always trust information from WIKI as I have found errors on a few things and added correct information. It was for Don Janse and whomever started the WIKI info stated that the Don Janse Chorale performed on a record for Singer Sewing Machine Company. They stated that it was the first record produced for consumers (I'm paraphrasing) but I have two Christmas albums from Singer and there was a record produced the year before the one that WIKI mentions so I added the information about it.

Received another DMCA Complaint

I received another DMCA complaint. So I guess this is it for now. I don't know why they don't bother people who post stuff that is currently available on CD and then you can't address them because their identities are omitted from the complaint so we can't verify that they do indeed hold a copyright on anything and Google, among other places have to take it at face value to protect themselves from legal repercussions.

I apologize if my blog disappears.

Just want to let everyone know that I am still here

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still here. I have been having some new health problems and just recently found that I have Emphysema.

Not sure how I got it as I really wasn't a smoker. I know there could be several causes, but I would guess that it is from second-hand smoke as up until a couple years ago, we used to go camping and our friends were heavy smokers and then we also had friends from out of state come to visit us from time to time and they were heavy smokers.

The strange part about this, is my two sisters and my brother are smokers and they are fine.

I wasn't having any problems breathing, but on a routine chest X-Ray, it showed Emphysema and about a year ago it wasn't there.

I hope to be doing something a little different with my blog in the near future.

I try to remove all the clicks, crackle and noise as well as 60Hz hum from my recordings using CoolEditPro and iZoTope RX. Some clicks may still be present, but do not interfere with the sound. I have had some mp3's that don't sound right after I remove the clicks as it physically changes the sound where the click was and muffles the music. If that happens, I will do the best I can at removing the clicks without degrading the music.
Here I will post some of my favorite Non-Christmas Records. Some of my favorite female singers from the 1950's & 1960's are Jeannie C. Some of my favorite male singers from the 1950's & 1960's are Elvis Presley, Ed Ames, Eddy Arnold, Tom Jones, Paul Peterson, Dean Martin, Mark Dinning, Jay & The Americans, Johnny Ray, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Box-Tops, The Dave Clark Five, Jim Reeves, Jim Nabors, Jack Jones, Vic Damone, Robert Goulet, SSgt. Barry Sadler, Del Shannon, Johnny Cash, Tommy Overstreet, Jim Ed Brown, Waylon, Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers and The First Edition., Johnny Maestro and The Crests/Brooklyn Bridge, Jan & Dean, Jack Scott, Paul Anka, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, James Darren, Bobby Darin. There are several more male and female singers that I like and will try to post something from each of them.
